Comments:
Double purfling on table and back, which has large diamond-arrow patterns at bottom and below fold but nothing in center. Back widths greater than front over arching. Neck narrow, short and sharply angled back; graft to pegbox with carved back and sides, and ivory on all edges. Fingerboard and tailpiece of burled walnut with plain borders. Bridge very tall (12 cm including shims); action now too high. Hookbar now, but bottom block drilled for button and/or end pin. Pringle (from photos): English, but not by Norman; head German, neck modern. Tourin: Norman School, crude. Website decoration typical of Norman; 2-piece table with 2 wings; neck not original, narrower than fingerboard and modified at butt; dimensions 69.5, 32.7/24.3/41.0, 14.0, 67.6.
