Comments:
Black-and-tan edging on both table and back; tailgut and endpin. Ribs appear quite deep and are only slightly shallower at neck, with no clear fold line; neck seems short, with only 6 frets in photos, perhaps because not enough length for a 7th. Small cutout at end of (long) fingerboard, and tailpiece’s upper end slightly diagonal with incurving sides. Label translates as “Bought from Karl Rott” = Franz Karl Rott / Frantisek Karel Rott, maker of musical instruments in Prague who d. 1917; his father, Augustine Henry Rott, founded a company to make brass instruments in 1839; more likely a repair or retail ID than the original maker.
