Sotheby’s: “Follower of Barak Norman: A Violoncello, English, circa 1720”, sold with a 1994 certificate from J & A Beares, Ltd.; Christie’s (per Herzog): “may originally have had five, or even six strings”; Herzog: by Edward Lewis II.
