Comments:
Not in Monical 1979, but his dimensions on file at Met: 27.5, 14.05/9.8/16.1, 3.3, -; he also says pegbox and head recut from violin or viola scroll. Neck inset into table; string length could be as long as 27.6. Brown 1902 calls it “High treble viol, pardessus or quinton ... The edge of the sound board decorated with ivory and purfling.” 2 pegs treble, 3 bass side. Website: treble, German, 19th century (but much smaller than any pardessus); no frets in photo.
