We are presenting our fourth Gamba Gamut - a showcase of short performances by viol soloists and ensembles - as an official Fringe Event, to be held Friday, June 14, 2013. This is a wonderful opportunity for emerging but established artists and ensembles to be seen and heard at what The Times, London has called "the world's leading festival of early music." We provide the venue, brochure, ushering and advertising free of charge to performers. For more information, click here for the announcement. Note that the new deadline is March 1.
On Saturday June 15, we'll open the doors to our Gamba Garden, where everyone can come and pick up a viol and take it for a test drive. This will be at the Goethe Institute, 170 Beacon St., from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.
The distinguished viola da gambist Philippe Pierlot will be holding a masterclass on Thursday, June 13, and the VdGSA is offering $500 scholarships to selected participants, to help defray costs of travel and lodging. More information is available here. Note that the application deadline has been extended to April 26.
And don't forget to drop by our exhibit booth in the Revere Hotel - we'd love to see you.
